Psychotherapy

Counseling or psychotherapy aims to help children, adolescents, and adults address and work through various mental health issues or concerns that may be causing them distress or dysfunction in their daily lives.  These may include various life crises, difficulties, and transitions.  We employ a combination of theoretical frameworks (cognitive, behavioral, client-centered, humanistic psychological theories) and strategies (such as play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, yoga therapy, among others) to achieve therapeutic goals.  Psychotherapy can be conducted either individually or in a group, depending on the client’s personal needs.

Yoga Therapy

During times of stress and conflict, it is easy to feel disconnected to oneself and feel caught up in one’s thoughts and emotions.  This can affect one’s sense of safety and well-being, as well as cause physical pain and suffering.  Yoga Therapy incorporates breath awareness, mindfulness, physical movements or asanas, in the therapeutic process.  Through this, behavioral patterns and thoughts can be brought to the surface, and may consequently lead to insight and transformation.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is developed to address needs of a homogenous group of clients (e.g., group play therapy, trauma therapy and support group sessions).  It allows clients to discuss similar experiences, realize the universality of shared experiences, and find resolution and support in a safe, therapeutic atmosphere.

Individual Therapy

We see children, adolescents, and adults for individual therapy who may be undergoing various life crises, difficulties, and transitions, using a combination of theoretical frameworks (cognitive, behavioral, client-centered, humanistic psychological theories).
