Dr. Tarroja has been a board member of the Psychological Association of the Philippines since 2007, in which she is currently its President. She is also a full-time Associate Professor and Chair of the Psychology Department at De La Salle University, and served as its Vice-Chair from September 2007 to May 2011. She also took the helm at PsychConsult as Clinical Director from June 2006 to May 2010.

Passionate about teaching and doing psychological assessment, Caring has been engaged in assessment in the last 18 years in the clinical, industrial, and psychoeducational areas. Her research interests include the impact of pre-adoption risks and family functioning on the behaviors of adopted children, families of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), supervision, and clinical assessment. She has presented papers both in local and international conferences.
